Molecular biology has changed and grown exponentially in the past decades. Genomic technologies are generating an unprecedent amount of information and the scientific community has to adapt and answer the challenge of data acquisition, storage, analysis and integration. In this genomic era, the need to effectively incorporate computers into research has never been higher.
I’m David Boo, a biotechnologist who strives to contribute with my grain of sand to improve research and ultimately, people’s lives. I have a strong theoretical and practical background in molecular biology, bioinformatics and clinical research, as well as huge interest in programming and data science. My multidisciplinar profile, combined with a strong work ethic and motivation, fits perfectly in this hybrid, quickly changing field of knowledge.
This website is just a small space in which I can show some of my recent projects. Most of these have been created to solve common problems, designed with a very practical point of view. However, all projects are open to group collaboration and team effort: this is why I try to include code explanations as well as definition of most biological terms. Combined with blog entries, I aspire to communicate effectively and manage to create a community in which we can all learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
There is a formula: 100% of me is nothing compared to 1% of the whole team.

I like to spend my free time running, being outdoors, reading and solving logic puzzles. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or inquiries. I’d love to hear from you!
